Welcome
Our core missions as members of the department
of history and educators at Tarrant County College are to foster an increased awareness of our shared history and to help create independent, analytical, and engaged global citizens. To foster these qualities we are trying to instill a *culture of learning* with our students. By providing an abundance of learning opportunities outside of class through lectures, library exhibits, author readings, and student organizations, we hope students will come to prioritize learning in their everyday lives. Armed with this attitude and these critical thinking skills, we believe students will be ready to succeed in any endeavor. We also firmly believe that the discipline of history is best suited to impart this attitude, awareness, and skills to students.
